Destination Development
The South Haven/Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau is the proud destination marketing agency for Van Buren County and South Haven on Lake Michigan.
Our destination development efforts are 100% funded by overnight visitation, which helps improve the South Haven experience through upgraded public amenities, advancements in accessibility and inclusion, enhanced outdoor recreation, and services that create lifelong memories.
Tourism & Community Impact
Not only does a trip to South Haven offer a getaway like none other, but each visit contributes to our community by funding events and nonprofits, art installations, parks & natural preservation, educational opportunities, museums, and wayfinding— just to name a few!
Overnight stays at member lodging businesses cover the cost of an annual visitors guide and area maps which are made available across Midwest travel markets and to local municipal organizations. Locally, we compound our reach through strong partnerships with affiliates like Pure Michigan, West Michigan Tourist Association, and Michigan Beachtowns. In addition to leading many enhancement initiatives, the bureau also operates a welcome center at 546 Phoenix Street, directly across the street from City Hall.
In addition to maps, publications, and other print materials, we also produce The Happenings in the Haven, an informative community event flyer distributed in-house and in a weekly newsletter. Sign up for our newsletter here!
